Why did I create Gattsu's Grub?
This photo is of me and my boy, Gattsu, the namesake for the business and the reason I started it in the first place. I raw feed Gattsu and I was a total beginner, so I joined a group on Facebook (RFFDMSUK), then in 2024 I became a moderator in that group. And then I realised I really enjoyed helping others with their dogs. This led to me choosing to complete my iPET Network Level 3 diploma in canine nutrition. I knew my boy needed to be a namesake, so me, my partner and my parents brainstormed until we landed upon what you see today. Welcome to Gattsu's Grub, join us on the journey.
Where did it all start?
I always loved animals, with a childhood dream of becoming a vet until I realised, university was not for me. This led to me studying animals at college and leaving with a triple distinction in the C&G Level 3 Extended Technical Diploma in Animal Management. I took a few years off animals after this as I really wanted to be in the RSPCA. I applied in their annual applications and got down to the last few hundred but unfortunately it stopped there. Fast forward to 2024, Gattsu comes into our lives, and Beau (in this photo) is 10. 2025 I decided I wanted to still help other pet owners, but in a more natural way. Beau is on some good old natural joint support, Gattsu is also on some good young joint support - his is more preventative due to the size of him! And they are both thriving.
